GRASS CUTTING: You may have noticed that the grass cutting on community land around the villages was left later than usual, and that some areas that were previously cut have been left this time. Parish Council News May
The Parish Council meet on a monthly basis usually the first Thursday of the month, at Diseworth Village Hall. All residents of Diseworth and Long Whatton are welcome to attend, and all agendas will be posted in the Parish noticeboards and on the website www.lwdpc.org.uk.
Due to the Jubilee bank holiday the next meeting will be held a week later than usual, on Thursday 9th June 2022 at 7pm.

Long Whatton Methodist Church
It is with regret that I have to advise you, on behlaf of the Parish Council, that the offer submitted to secure the Methodist Church for a community building was unsuccesful.
At themoment I have been advised that the highest bidder has been sent through the heads of terms and the building is now SOLD, subject to contract.

The Countryside Code
The weather is picking up and we have the lovely Spring sunshine on its way. With more people out and about this is just a polite reminder to ask members of the public to keep to public footpaths and keep their dogs on the lead and under control, with it being lambing season it is important that dogs are not exercising over fields.

Long Whatton Methodist Church
The Parish Council has been advised by Gadsby Nichols (the estate agent to the Methodist Church) that the Church's senior legal team has instructed them to obtain 'Best Price' for the property rather than favouring the sale to a community group as was the case originally.
