The Parish Council recently agreed a financial contribution towards the C of E Parish Church in Diseworth for works to repair the clock, a huge asset to the heritage of the village and therefore the application was supported. If you are a formally constituted charity, voluntary or community organisation and have a future project in mind for 2021 please complete the application form online - we look forward to hearing from you!

As you will have seen the press coverage; a decision has now been made, however, the Parish Council has yet to be informed by Leicestershire County Council or North West Leicestershire District Council with regard to the timescale's public communication events. For the latest updates please check the following website https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/search/site/hs2.

Flood Update & Riparian ownership
If you own land adjoining a watercourse, you have certain rights and responsibilities. In legal terms you are a 'riparian owner' You are responsible for maintaining the bed and banks of the watercourse, and the trees and shrubs growing on the banks. You must also clear any debris, even if it did not originate from your land. You have the right to protect your property from flooding. However, in most cases, the Environment Agency must agree your plans. The Parish Council will be holding a virtual meeting with LCC around Riparian Ownership management. If you would like to attend, please email parishcouncil@lwdpc.org.uk

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) sent out a statement in relation to the progress of the Flood Modelling Study – you can find this on the PC Website. The Clerk is awaiting a timeline from LCC which will give us estimated dates on how LCC expect to move forward with the project.
